Laoshe Teahouse is named after a famous Beijing modern writer – Lao She. The three-act play Tea House written by Lao She, dramatically describes the moving of Chinese Society in 50 years around the beginning of 20th century, through the rise and fall of a common Tea House. Laoshe Teahouse also inherits this miracle. The fading Chinese traditional opera and folk art, which used to flourish four hundreds years, has come back on a small stage.

On our arriving at the Teahouse, plenty of delicious Beijing food were waiting. The whole dinner hall was decorated in an old-fashion style, with the shadow play, the dinner was more like an exploration than just fulfilled the belly. Traditional Beijing food was served, including the famous Beijing Duck. Our foreign faculties had a wonderful try-out on Beijing food.

And the show was just fabulous! Many prize-winner artists went on the stage and brought their amazing performance to our faculties. Presenting in Beijing style, this evening show covered every form of art. While tasting the tea with china cup, a tea culture show was displayed to show the whole set of tea drinking. Later the acrobatics grabbed everybody's attention. Hoops played by the artist were flying freely which actually were attached to a thin string. The opera show "Monkey king borrow a palm fan" didn't fail people's expectation. The custom, the movements and above all , the great performance well represented the name: treasure of China. Though the whole performance was in Chinese, they offered an English host and subtitles on the side thus our foreign teachers could understand the show without language barriers. The magic show brought all the faculties into wonders. The combination of tea culture and martial art, long month tea show expressed both art and strength. And the mysterious face changing show amazed everyone at seat. Presenting as the ending show, Kongfu successfully pumped the performance into climax.
