根据北京大学与斯坦福大学相关协议,为促进中美青年交流与教育合作,今年3月底至6月初,将有21位斯坦福大学本科生在北京大学斯坦福中心参加“汉学京塾”项目(CHINA Studies in Beijing Program)。
该项目将在跨文化交流语境中,帮助学生了解中国的发展成就与路径,以及在全球体系中的角色和作用。期间,斯坦福大学知名教授将来校开设4门相关课程,欢迎我校学生参与学习。
一、开设课程
A. Understanding China’s Rise, By Professor Andrew Walder(每周一、周三上午)
B. Health, Politics, and the Culture of Modern China, By Professor Kohrman(每周二、周四上午)
C. Technology and Governance in China, By Professor Jennifer Pan(每周二、周四下午)
D. The Logic of Governance in Contemporary China, By Professor Xueguang Zhou(每周三下午)
注:为促进项目广泛参与,每位同学限报一门课程。完成相应课程学习并符合成绩要求者,将获得项目颁发的该课程学习证书,但无法转化为北京大学或斯坦福大学的相应学分。
二、遴选条件
1.北京大学正式注册全日制学生,既有课业安排与申请的项目课程时间不冲突;
2.品学兼优,自觉遵守两校和项目相关管理规定,能熟练运用英文进行课堂讨论、完成作业和论文考核等;
3.具有一定的跨文化交流能力,有志于促进中美中外友好,为构建人类命运共同体贡献力量。
三、申请办法
请填写“申请表”(附件)并于2025年3月7日(星期五)之前发送至项目邮箱:gxy@stanford.edu邮件标题请使用“Application for China Studies in Beijing”。项目将进行考核遴选并及时以邮件形式通知录取结果。
Announcement on the Selection of Peking University Students for the "China Studies in Beijing" Program
Peking University, in partnership with Stanford University, is pleased to announce the China Studies in Beijing Program, a collaboration aimed at fostering youth exchanges and educational cooperation between China and the United States. From late March to early June of this year, 21 Stanford University undergraduates will be hosted at the Stanford Center at Peking University for this initiative.
This immersive program is designed to deepen students' understanding of China's developmental strides, its strategic pathways, and its pivotal role within the global framework, all within an enriching cross-cultural context. During this time, distinguished Stanford professors will deliver four specialized courses, to which we cordially invite Peking University students.
I. Courses Offered:

B.“Health, Politics, and the Culture of Modern China”, By Professor Kohrman (Tue & Thu mornings)
C.“Technology and Governance in China”, By Professor Jennifer Pan (Tue & Thu afternoons)
D.“The Logic of Governance in Contemporary China”, By Professor Xueguang Zhou (Wed afternoons)
Note:To ensure wide access to the program, students may enroll in only one course. Participants who successfully complete their course and meet grading criteria will be awarded a certificate of completion. However, these courses will not count for credit at either Peking University or Stanford University.
II. Eligibility Criteria:
·Candidates must be registered full-time students at Peking University with no scheduling conflicts with the chosen program course.
·Applicants should demonstrate exemplary academic and personal integrity, adhere to the management regulations set by both institutions, and be proficient in English for class discussions, assignments, and assessments.
·Prospective students should possess effective cross-cultural communication abilities, show a keen interest in fostering Sino-American and international relations, and aspire to contribute to a shared global future.
III. How to Apply:
Interested students should complete the "Application Form" (see Attachment) and submit it to the program email atgxy@stanford.eduby March 7, 2025 (Friday). The email subject line must read "Application for China Studies in Beijing". Applicants will be evaluated fairly and informed of their admission status promptly via application email.
