During May 19th to 23rd, 2013, the International Symposium on Circuits and Systems known as ISCAS2013 was held in China National Convention Center. Nearly a thousand experts and scholars from around the world attended the event. The Symposium was hosted by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society and organized by Peking University.
 

ISCAS is a world flagship conference of circuits, system theories, design and implementation. It has gained a worldwide reputation in both academic and industry sectors. It has been held annually since 1967. Nowadays, circuits and systems, together with digital signals and multimedia applications have become increasingly integrated into people’s daily life. The rapid development of circuits and systems technology has been a strong impetus for the great improvement of intelligent life, scientific technology, medical practice and other sectors of society.
 
This Symposium is the first ISCAS annual meeting held in China. It received 1,429 submissions of papers from 51 countries altogether, and 684 papers were accepted. Professor Gao Wen,academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering,made a speech at the opening ceremony, warmly welcoming experts from home and abroad to get together in Beijing.
 

ISCAS2013 was held in Beijing on the occasion when China's digital multimedia technology and electronic information industry was taking historically big leaps. During this Symposium, Peking University provided aneffectiveplatform for academic exchanges, through which the research and development personnel from around the world can release the latest research results, exchange innovative ideas, and look into the future trends. It also provided a precious opportunity for related technologies and industries to expand their international communication.
