About Us


What is OIR


The Office of International Relations (OIR) is the official administrative department of Peking University (PKU) on implementing the PKU international policies and on coordinating its international exchanges and cooperation.

 

OIR provides consultation to the PKU leadership; supports the international activities of all schools, institutes, departments, offices, centers, and organizations at PKU; plans and implements the receptions of important foreign guests; manages the institutional exchanges of PKU; serves the international students and visiting scholars at PKU; employs and serves foreign experts; organizes international conferences; liaise, examines and files for approvals regarding running PKU education abroad; applies the visas of PKU faculty and staff on business visits and those of the PKU students; signs official opinions on the private visits on behalf of PKU; and other affairs as the PKU leadership may ask us to do.

 

OIR has the following divisions: Division of General Affairs, Division for Exchange Programs, Division of Foreign Experts, Division for Overseas Affairs, Division for International Student Affairs, and Division for Exchange Students. The Packard International Visiting Scholar Residence, Lin Hu Xuan and the Luce Pavilion are also under the administration of OIR.
