On the afternoon of October 29th, Vice President of École des Ponts Paris Tech Pierre Michaux visited Peking Univeristy (PKU). Li Yansong, Vice President of PKU met the guest at Linhuxuan, accompanied by Chen Dayue, Vice Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences, and Zheng Ruqing, Deputy Director of the Office of International Relations.
Vice President Li Yansong first extended warm welcome for the arrival of the guest. Then he introduced the cooperation links established between PKU and French universities and institutions. He pointed out that as a comprehensive university, PKU was endowed with advantages in many disciplines and had already carried out several dual degree programs with French universities.
Vice President Pierre Michaux noted that École des Ponts Paris Tech, a time-honored school, is a higher institution that has yield many talents and has established cooperation relations with universities in many different countries. He wishes that closer cooperation ties can be built in math, environment and other disciplines.
Then both parties discussed on the possibility of dual degree program, and reached consensus on the importance of language in the joint program. After the meeting, Vice President Pierre Michaux left for the School of Mathematical Sciences and further discussed on specific cooperation issues.
