On October 24th, 2014, a delegation of Université de Toulouse, composed of presidents and professors from Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse III), National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (INPT), the Institute National des Sciences Applications of Toulouse (INSA) and École Nationale Supérieur d'Architecture de Toulouse (ENSA Toulouse), visited Peking University (PKU). PKU Vice President Dr. Li Yansong and professors from the School of Mathematical Sciences, the College of Engineering, the School of Urban and Environmental Sciences and the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture received the delegation at Linhuxuan.

Prof. Bertrand Monthubert, President of Toulouse III, introduced the strengths of Université de Toulouse in science and technology, which was consolidated by various joint laboratories set up by faculties from different member universities. As one of the largest and most prominent university group in France, Université de Toulouse has chosen China as one of its major targets for cooperation.
Vice President Li Yansong mentioned PKU’s goal to let every student have an overseas experience during their study at PKU. PKU now offers a number of dual degree programs in cooperation with French universities which are especially popular among students, for they provide not only academic rigor, but also exposure to English and/or French, which is a “brand-new experience for Chinese students.”
Towards the end of the meeting, PKU and Université de Toulouse agreed to further explore the possibility of collaboration in joint research, mutual visits, as well as exchange and degree programs in the future. Prof. Bertrand Monthubert, on behalf of the Université de Toulouse, and Vice President Li Yansong signed a Memorandum of Understanding signifying their intentions for future cooperation.
