On December 10th 2014, the delegation of Tehran University (UT) led by Vice President Ghahremani visited Peking University (PKU). The delegation members included Abdolmajid Eskandari, Director General, Office of International Relations, University of Tehran, and Dr. Hussein Ganjidoust, Science Counselor at the Iranian Embassy in China. Dr. Li Yansong, Vice President of PKU received the delegation.
Vice President Li Yansong extended a warm welcome to the delegation and noted that both universities have a long history and enjoy a close relationship. He expressed his hope to expand cooperation to fields such as social science, engineering, climate change and environmental protection.
Vice President Ghahremani noted that with the interaction and exchanges growth between the two countries in recent years, students from both countries have the opportunity to learn more about cultures different from their own. Counselor Ganjidoust said that many universities in Iran would like to collaborate with Chinese universities not only in language, but also in the fields of science and engineering.
Both parties expressed their sincere wishes to identify more academic fields of common interest and build more platforms to enhance their relationship. At the end of the meeting, the leaders of two universities exchanged souvenirs and took photo.
