On December 26th, Vice President of the University of Tokyo Haneda Masashi led a delegation to visit Peking University (PKU). PKU Vice President Li Yansong, Dean of the School of International Studies, Jia Qingguo, Vice Dean of Graduate School, Liu Mingli, met the guests at Linhuxuan.
Vice President Masashi spoke highly of the past exchanges between the two institutions. Noting that there was great significance for both institutions to maintain close cooperation ties with each other, he hoped that two sides could boost collaboration in short and long-term exchange programs, and double degree programs. He also suggested that both sides can come up with joint programs that target both students and professors.
Vice President Li agreed, and hoped that both institutions could be able to introduce their joint summer school program next summer. He proposed to deepen Sino-Japanese ties through joint education and double degree programs. Besides, He hoped that PKU can establish a strategic cooperative agreement with Tokyo University in order to raise the students' level of internationalization.
