On March 30, 2015, a delegation led by Professor Vasile Secares, the founding Rector of the National School of Political and Administrative Studies (SNSPA), a public university in Bucharest, Romania, visited Peking University (PKU). He was accompanied by Mr. Doru Costea, the Romanian Ambassador to China. The delegation was received at Linhuxuan by Li Yansong, Vice President of PKU, Professor Zhou Zhiren, Secretary of the Party Committee of PKU School of Government, specializing in political science, Professor Kong Fanjun, Dean of Center for Central and Eastern Europe Studies of PKU, Zheng Ruqing, Deputy Director of the Office of International Relations of PKU, and Cao Jieyi, officer of the Office of International Relations. Both sides engaged in a friendly discussion and exchanged their opinions regarding collaboration between the two universities.

First of all, Vasile Secares spoke highly of the progress China had made in the improvement of the country and stated that China was playing an important role in the rapidly changing world. Then, he explained the specialty programs of SNSPA and illustrated the necessity and the benefits of the collaboration with PKU.
Afterward, Vice President Li Yansong extended a warm welcome to the delegation to return to PKU, and he expressed his hope to expand cooperation in fields such as exchange programs. He also invited SNSPA to participate in next year’s Beijing Forum, which is an annual event discussing a variety of topics together with various panels.
In addition, Prof. Li Zhiren and Prof. Kong Fanjun each gave a brief introduction to the history, faculties, and international cooperation projects of the School of Government and the School of International Studies of PKU and called for more collaboration.
Towards the end of the discussion, they came to an agreement on building a stronger relationship and expressed sincere willingness for further collaboration in the future. After the meeting, the leaders of two universities exchanged souvenirs and took photos.
