On May 18th, 2015, Francis Verillaud, Vice President of Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) led a delegation to visit Peking University (PKU). Li Yansong, Vice President of PKU, Sun Hua, Yuanpei College Party Secretary of PKU, Professor Xu Yajun, Associate Dean of School of Public Health of PKU, John Holden, Associate Dean at Yenching Academy of PKU, Zheng Ruqing, Deputy Director of the Office of International Relations of PKU, and Cao Jieyi, officer of the Office of International Relations of PKU received the guests at Linhuxuan.
Francis Verillaud, on behalf of PRES Sorbonne Paris Cité, a Comprehensive University Alliance established by Sciences Po and 12 French universities and scientific institutions in 2010, stressed that PRES Sorbonne Paris Cité should strengthen and expand its collaboration with PKU. He hoped to sign a framework agreement on collaborative projects between PRES Sorbonne Paris Cité members and PKU in the future. He also reviewed the cooperation between Science Po and PKU and expresses his wishes for more and more students from PKU to participate in the double master degree programs conducted by both universities.
Afterwards, Li Yansong, Vice President of PKU, gave high praise for the efforts Francis Verillaud has made. He said he was confident of further collaboration with Sciences Po, which is one of the important partners of cooperation in France. He also reviewed the cooperation with certain members of PRES Sorbonne Paris Cité and expressed his sincere hope for fruitful cooperation with PRES Sorbonne Paris Cité in the future.
In addition, Secretary Sun Hua, Associate Dean Xu Yajun, and Associate Dean John Holden each gave a brief introduction to cooperation projects of the Yuanpei College, the School of Public Health, and the Yenching Academy, and they expressed their hope for greater collaboration.
Towards the end of the meeting, the leaders of two universities exchanged souvenirs and took photos. After the meeting, Francis Verillaud was accompanied by John Holden as they visited the Yenching Academy, and then they attended a luncheon at School of International Studies of PKU.
