On May 22, 2015, Asher Cohen and Oron Shagrir, President and Vice President, respectively, of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem visited Peking University (PKU). Lin Jianhua, President of PKU and Li Yansong, Vice President of PKU extended a warm welcome to delegation from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. President Lin expressed his hope to explore the possibilities of student exchange programs and collaborative academic research. President Cohen supported the proposal and explained that he was hopeful that the two universities could deepen their cooperation. Both sides enjoyed a fruitful discussion on cooperation in various areas.
Then Jin Li, Vice Dean of the Guanghua School of Management (GSM), Li Shujing, Vice Dean of School of Foreign Languages, Ni Jinren, Vice Dean of College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Ouyang Xiaoling, Vice Dean of School of Advanced Agricultural Sciences (SAAS), Qu Shanshan, Program Officer of the Beijing Forum Secretariat, and Zhang Yuanyuan, Program Officer of the Office of International Relations received the guests at Office of the President.
In the beginning of the meeting, Dean Li Shujing introduced the Hebrew major at PKU, which is one of the 20 undergraduate majors in the School of Foreign Languages. She mentioned her expectation to send more Hebrew-major students to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Dean Jin Li talked about his own abroad experiences and feelings. He spoke highly of the enterprises and advanced technology of Israel. He introduced the short-term exchange program of GSM to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which focuses on entrepreneurship. Dean Ni Jinren gave a brief introduction to the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering and the international cooperation master program with Singapore. Dean Ouyang Xiaoling provided information of the newly established SAAS. President Cohen expressed great interest in SAAS because the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has the only agriculture department in Israel. Ms. Shi Lei, the program officer of the Confucius College in Israel, emphasized cultural communication.

Afterwards, PKU faculty showed two presidents of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem around the campus. Then the leaders of two universities exchanged souvenirs and took photos.
