On October 25, students embraced 2015 Peking University International Culture Festival. Despite the cold wind roaring and the tender sunshine fading, people gathered to take a deeper glance into the beauty of cultures.
While the concept of how Earth being “hot, flat and crowded” prevails over the generation, the exhibition provides the world a chance to prove the prosperity and diversity of the cultures. There are various international students from more than 50 countries enthusiastically introducing their own culture, including students from Japan, Sweden, Russia, Mexico and so on. Besides people who came to enjoy, there were also lots of Chinese student volunteers around who were devoted to the event, entertaining the ambassadors and reporting the events.
With the exhibition decorated exquisitely and the posters drawn finely, the exhibition of Indonesia successfully caught the sight of awe and kindled people’s interest. The musical instrument was displayed on the table, and people played the instrument to bury in the music, know this country better via a more traditional way and explore the grace of art of Indonesia. As a student introduced, the cultural heritages and unique species of Indonesia blended in a profound history that showed the various treasures hidden in Indonesia A picture on the poster caught the moment of a woman’s laughing on the parades. The smile was so bright that it was frozen forever in time and etched into the memory.
When passing by the exhibition of the Republic of Peru, it is hard for one to look away. The traditional costumes and the toys of alpaca were so distinctive that people found it hard to simply let go the opportunity to meet this country. The carpet made of the fur of alpaca was hung highly on top of the booth and the men in their traditional costumes wore on a smile that could light up the cold weather in this October. Pictures on the wall allowed students to marvel over the magnificent views and seize the chance to take a look at the local’ lifestyle. Also, the toys of alpaca on the table were adorable. However, a gentle touch on the toys can make them become even more attractive—it is the fur of alpaca that has this magical ability to give out warmth and softness at the same time.
There are lots of exhibitions left without saying, but the laughter and the chat floated on the day of October 25th are the very proof of how interesting the 2015 Peking University International Culture Festival Exhibition was. The songs keep playing in the memory, the shows replay whenever there is a flashback and thus the time stands still. Although the exhibition has to be drawn to an end, people who once participated shall always look back on the day.
